Surrey Police Officer Charged with Driving Offence
A Surrey police officer has been charged with driving without due care and attention after a crash that left a woman with serious injuries.
A Surrey Police van collided with the woman’s Ford Fiesta on 28 June at Warnham near Horsham in West Sussex.
The officer is due to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 29 January.
The 34-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital where she remains in a serious condition.
Surrey Police referred the crash to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) who decided to oversee an investigation which is being carried out by Sussex Police.
