A teenager from Reigate has been jailed for possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

19 year-old Maximillian Coughlin had previously pleaded guilty to: Ten counts of distributing indecent images; Ten counts of making images; One count of attempting to distribute images and One count of inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity.

It follows a search of Coughlin’s home last year where a laptop was seized which held information about his Skype account and files of indecent images ranging from the most indecent being category A to the least category C.

On Thursday 5h June, Coughlin was jailed for 18 months and was ordered to sign the Sexual Offenders Register for ten years and was made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order which prevents him using the internet to contact any child under the age of 16 or to be in contact with anyone under the age of 16 unless supervised.
