Sharing buildings with other organisations has saved Surrey taxpayers around seven hundred thousand pounds in the last year.
County council staff share offices across Surrey with hundreds of employees from other public services, including around seven hundred in offices owned by borough and district councils.
The money saved from rent, heating and repairs is enough to pay for 70 school places over a year.
Surrey county council cabinet associate, Tony Samuels has said the saving will be put back into the “front line”, including schools and elderly care.
