Crawley Town Hall is 50 years old this month and a photo exhibition celebrating this milestone starts next Monday in the foyer of the building.
The building was officially opened on the 14th of November 1964 by MP Michael Stewart, the Secretary of State for Education and Science.
The Town Hall was built to serve a town of 75,000-80,000 people but the capability to expand upwards and northwards was included. Northward expansion, which included the multi-storey car park, took place in 1989.
