A child has been sold alcohol in an off-licence in Crawley.
Underage customers went to eight pubs and off-licences across Horsham and Crawley as part of a police operation last Thursday.
At seven locations, including Costcutter in Horsham; Best One in Crawley and Wine Express stores in Crawley, the young volunteers were challenged by staff who refused to serve them alcohol.
However a member of staff at West Sussex Wines in Ifield Drive in Crawley was caught selling alcohol to someone who was underage.
The neighbourhood licensing team will work to ensure all staff are correctly trained. Failure of further test purchases could result in prosecution.
