A man in his twenties has been arrested following a series of assaults in Uckfield.

Police were called to a fight in Manor Close Friday evening just before 10:30pm.  Other incidents then occurred in The Drive and Manor Way.

Three men were attacked over the course of the evening, two requiring treatment for facial and hand injuries.

A police officer was also assaulted as he approached a man in Manor Way.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of wounding with intent, assaulting a police officer and assault by beating.  He has been released on bail until February.
