Two hundred solar panels have been installed on the roof of Maidenbower Day Care and Community Centre at a cost of £54,000.
The system will save the council up to £8,300 per year and lower their CO2 emissions.
This is the sixth Crawley Borough Council building to benefit from solar panels after the Town Hall, K2 Crawley, Metcalf Way Depot, Bewbush Centre and Maidenbower Pavilion.
In total, the panels on these six buildings are expected to reduce the council’s energy bills by £66,000 each year and save around 190,000kg of carbon dioxide.
