Six creative children from across Tandridge beat off strong competition to prove their colouring skills were the best to win the District Council’s recent colouring competition.
Featured in the Council’s newsletter for schools Get Recycling with Tandridge Ted and run as part of the introduction of an expanded recycling and waste service in December 2014, the competition was open to primary school aged children living or at school in the district.
Judged in two age categories, 4 to 7 and 8 to 11 years, each winner was presented with a copy of a book full of good ideas about how everyday items can be used in fun and creative ways. They also received a Tandridge Ted teddy bear and other goodies.
The winning entries were from:
In the 4 to 7 years category:
- Elias Clench, aged 5, from Lingfield/Lingfield Primary School
- Chloe Lendon Bushaway, aged 7, from Horley/Redehall Prep School
- And Oscar Mullinger, aged 4, from Oxted/Limpsfield Infant School
And in the 8 to11 years category:
- Kate Ho, aged 8, from Chaldon/Oakhyrst Grange School
- Jemima Mumford, aged 9, from Oxted/St Marys School
- And Isabella Wade, aged 10, from Caterham/St John’s C of E School
