Nine people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the M23 yesterday (Sunday 19th July)

Five vehicles were involved in the pile-up close to junction nine for Gatwick on the northbound carriageway around noon.
One of the casualties is believed to be in a serious condition and the other eight have been treated for minor injuries.

Police have told us that the cars involved were a silver BMW, blue Ford Focus estate, grey Ford Focus, a black Mercedes and a black Jaguar.

The road was closed for a while between junctions 8 and 9
