A fire which is believed to have started accidentally has caused major damage to a house in Northgate.

The male occupant of the property in Woodfield Road was treated by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service for smoke inhalation. He received First Aid and oxygen.

50% of the kitchen was damaged by fire. 30% of the ground floor and 10% of the first floor was damaged by smoke.
