One year on and the Tandridge expanded recycling service has recycled 41 tonnes of clothes, textiles, paired shoes, small electrical items and batteries, equivalent to 241 adult reindeer.
Launched in December 2014, the service has also collected over 2,500 tonnes of food waste and nearly 10,000 tonnes of mixed recycling.
In the run up to Christmas, Tandridge District Council is asking residents to keep up the good work and continue to recycle as much as possible.
And of course recycle as much of the left over Christmas wrapping as you can after the big day… And don’t forget those wine bottles and beer cans!
