Three people were assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Epsom at the weekend.

Two men aged 22 from Redhill and a 21 year old woman were taken to Epsom General Hospital where they received treatment.

The woman suffered a serious facial wound, one man suffered facial bruising and the third suffered minor head injuries. The group had been approached by the suspect in the High Street and accompanied him to a local bar which turned out to be closed.

The friends then made off in the direction of East Street but were followed by the offender who launched an attack.

A 33 year old man from Croydon was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm. He is on conditional bail and is due to return on 22nd February.
