Leaders behind a devolution bid for Surrey and Sussex have outlined to the Government how their plan would boost growth for the region.
At the meeting in Westminster, representatives for the Three Southern Counties bid told Baroness Williams how devolving additional powers to the region would help new growth, and transform how public services are delivered. Proposals include how Surrey, and East and West Sussex would work together to tackle the congested road and rail network, close the skills gap in business, and build affordable new homes.
The bid has been developed with 44 organisations including borough and district councils, clinical commissioning groups and the two police forces.
