Trading Standards officers and sniffer dogs will be in Crawley next month, highlighting the dangers of illicit tobacco.
They will be in Queen’s Square in Crawley on 1st February.
Counterfeit tobacco is even more hazardous than legal tobacco as it can contain highly toxic materials including rat poison, cyanide or plastic.
Illicit tobacco products do not always self-extinguish which can lead to house fires.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue officers, and SmokeFree West Sussex will also be attending the events.
Anyone with information about illegal goods can report details online at http://wwww.westsussex.gov.uk/TSreport.
