Gatwick Airport has announced the expansion of its investment programme, totalling two and a half billion pounds.

Gatwick’s Development Director, Raymond Melee, said the increased investment will help cope with rapid passenger growth. Speaking to a group of construction leaders, he added the airport has opened discussions with contractors about building its second runway.

He said it is important that Gatwick is ready to start work as soon as Government approval is granted.
