A team of Sussex Police officers and staff members are now 14 days into their pledge to run, jog or walk at least two miles a day for the next 100 days.
The pledge, which started on Saturday, 20 February, is in support of ‘Run to Remember’, a national event run by the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial fund.
This is a registered charity which was set up in memory of PC Hughes, who was murdered alongside her colleague PC Fiona Bone, on 12 September 2012 in Greater Manchester.
Team Sussex first took part in the event in 2013/14 and raised more than £4,000 in donations – they hope to beat this record this year.

Bryn Hughes, Nicola’s father, set up the charity to provide learning opportunities and pre-employment skills in the form of support through grants or services to children (under 21) who have suffered a tragic loss of a close family member through a violent crime such as murder or manslaughter.
