A new campaign has been launched by West Sussex County Council to keep the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service within its control.

The Council officially launched ‘Safer in Our Hands’ at a full County Council meeting last week.  This was in response to plans by the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner’s office to look at taking over the service.  

The Council feels the service is democratically accountable and believes that the model they are operating in West Sussex is the right one for its community.
