A 19-year-old man from East Grinstead has been given a three year criminal behaviour order after being convicted of a street robbery.
Archie William Gates pleaded not guilty to robbing a boy of a packet of tobacco in Windmill Lane, East Grinstead, on 31 December last year but was found guilty following the trial.
He was given a six month jail sentence suspended for two years and ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work. He was also fined £200 for two breaches of a conditional discharge.
Under the order Gates is banned from using threatening, insulting or abusive words or behaviour towards others in public and associating with anyone aged 15 or below in public.
He’s already been subject of a two-year anti-social behaviour order which was given to him in April 2013.
