A large-scale police hunt has been taking place for a young boy who was reportedly seen being taken into a van in Redhill.
The child is described as white, around 4ft tall and between six and seven years of age, wearing a red T-shirt and navy blue jeans.
He is believed to have been put into a black Volkswagen van in Redstone Hill, Redhill yesterday (Thu 25 Aug) afternoon.
The owner of a van pictured in a CCTV image circulated by police has been traced and ruled out of the inquiry.
But police are still looking for a similar modified VW Transporter Van with an 02 plate, sliding doors, no side writing or rear windows and with alloy wheels – with one missing on the front nearside.
If you own this van, or know anything about it please get in touch with police urgently on 101.
The mountain bike previously thought to have been abandoned has now been linked to another incident and is not now relevant to this inquiry.
It now appears that the incident took place around 4:25pm yesterday and they’d also like to speak to anyone who was on Redstone Hill around that time.
Again if you can help please contact Surrey Police on 101
At this stage there has been no missing person report received in relation to a child but police continue to treat this incident seriously and will do so until the full circumstances have been established.
