Gritters will be out in Surrey for the first time this winter as temperatures drop tonight.
They’ll be heading out to grit the roads from 7pm tonight after filling up from the 16,000-tonnes of salt the Council has stockpiled.
1,700 salt bins are also due to be filled by authorities to help people grit their local roads and paths.
Along with this farmers equipped with ploughs are on standby ready to tackle any snow and ice in rural areas.
