Raven Housing Trust, which manages The Dome tower block in Redhill, has issued advice to its residents following the fire at Grenfell Tower in West London.
Raven Housing Trust has stated that The Dome has a “stay put” policy if a fire occurs elsewhere in the building and not in a resident’s flat. The Trust says the building construction of The Dome is not the same as Grenfell Tower; The Dome is designed to restrict the spread of fire and smoke between flats and communal areas. Raven advise that if a fire occurs in a resident’s flat or they feel at risk, then they should leave their home, closing windows and the front door and call 999.
The Trust says that every year, it employs an independent consultant to carry out a full Fire Risk Assessment; any works that are recommended are completed without delay.
