The Leader of Crawley Council, Peter Lamb, says fire safety processes for local authority flats in the area will be reviewed following the Grenfell Tower incident last week.
Writing in the Crawley Observer he says non-council buildings will also be investigated, although, he is currently ‘uncertain’ what can be done as many retrofits opted out of the planning process due to Permitted Development Rights.
Despite this, he has reassured residents ‘no similar’ buildings to Grenfell Tower exists in the region and there are ‘robust’ fire safety procedures in places.
