A lorry driver who was driving whilst disqualified and without insurance has been jailed.
Hughie McGonnell was caught speeding in a 44-tonne articulated lorry on the M23 near Crawley.
He was 15mph over the limit when the police stopped him.
Further checks identified McGonnel as serving a five year ban for a previous drink-driving offence.
The vehicle was seized, and McGonnell was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
The 25-year-old pleaded guilty and at Crawley Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced to prison for 16 weeks. He was also disqualified from driving for a further 15 months, and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
