Surrey County Council’s Cabinet has approved plans for 270 more school places in Tandridge.
Plans to expand St Mary’s Junior School in Oxted and De Stafford Secondary School in Caterham were approved at a meeting last Tuesday. An extra 150 places are planned for De Stafford School; admissions will increase by one form of entry starting from this school year. St Mary’s in Oxted will increase from three forms of entry to four forms of entry, creating an extra 120 places.
The changes reflect a rise in the birth rate and increased house building and migration within the area.
