Sussex heads join others in march for more money

Head teachers from Sussex have joined others from England in delivering a letter to the chancellor calling for an extra £1.7 billion in funding.

Despite already getting £1.3 billion more, they are saying this is not enough and there are big disparities in the amount spent per pupil across the country.

School minister Nick Gibb says every school will see an increase from 2018 which will solve the differences.

But heads warn many may not be able to afford to recruit new teachers along with the risk of classes sizes getting bigger and some subjects having to be stopped.
