Taxi fares could be about to rise in Tandridge.

The council’s agreed to a public consultation on increasing it for Hackney Carriages after a request from the local association.

The Tandridge Hackney Carriage Association says fares must be put in line with increasing running costs which include fuel and insurance premiums.

Councillor Nick Childs, Chair of the Community Services Committee, said: “We know how much residents value the taxi services in the district and it’s important we recognise the rising costs for running the vehicles. We will welcome the views of our residents in the consultation.”
