A pub in Merstham has had its licence revoked by the Council following evidence provided by Surrey Police.
The Railway Arms on London Road North was the location of a number of violent incidents, including a recent double stabbing. Sergeant Trevor Hughes of Surrey Police said they are pleased with the result and hope that it will decrease the amount of crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.
Reigate and Banstead Borough Council’s licensing and regulatory sub-committee met last week. It ruled that due to the evidence put forward by the Licensing Enforcement Team, the pub will no longer be able to sell alcohol.
