Representatives of a Crawley-based charity attended a gathering in Westminster to call for improved access to affordable eye care in developing countries.
Vision Aid Overseas was welcomed to Parliament by Crawley MP Henry Smith. High Commissioners, parliamentarians and donors joined a range of international development charities at the event held earlier this week.
Vision Aid Overseas has a warehouse in the Manor Royal Business District where it recycles around 3.5 million second-hand spectacles each year and then uses funds raised to deliver eye care services and low-cost new glasses to those in need.
In a statement Henry Smith MP has said ‘we can be proud of the international impact of this Crawley-based charity.
