A woman is recovering after being dragged along a Crawley street by a driver in a moving car.
The 67-year-old victim was walking along Lady Margaret Road Monday evening when, shortly before 10 o’clock, a man driving a green VW Golf pulled up alongside her.
The driver asked for directions before grabbing her handbag.
The man started to drive away but the female victim kept hold of her bag and was dragged along the street for about 100 yards before she eventually had to let go.
The car then sped away leaving tire tracks on the road.
Emergency services treated the victim at the scene for cuts, bruising and grazing.
The driver is described as a man of black appearance. At this stage there is no registration number for the vehicle.
