Richard Leman, one of East Grinstead Hockey Club’s longest serving players and volunteers has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Richard received the honour for services to hockey.
After achieving a bronze medal at the 1984 Olympic Games and gold four years later, Richard became GB hockey president and served on the British Olympic Association board for a decade. Richard was Chairman of East Grinstead Hockey Club for five years in the 1990s and also Chairman of East Grinstead Sports Club from 2003 to 2010.
