The outpatients clinic at Horsham Hospital has received a new £47,000 ophthalmology machine.
The machine was paid for by the League of Friends at Horsham Hospital and will help patients prepare for cataract operations. The new state of the art machine measures eye structures for patients who need cataract surgery. It has replaced an older machine and can measure the eye faster and more accurately.
Previously, some patients with more dense cataract would have had to travel to East Surrey Hospital for their pre assessment as the old machine was unable to get the necessary measurements. Now all patients living in the local area can have their pre assessment appointments at Horsham Hospital.
