Two men from East Surrey have been jailed after they pleaded guilty to a burglary in Betchworth.
Multiple pieces of jewellery valued at £400 were stolen from a property in October last year. The jewellery was later recovered by Police in nearby shrubbery after the offenders were disturbed.
The two men were identified and attended Guildford Crown Court on Monday where they pleaded guilty on the first day of the trial. Tony Hoare from Horley was jailed for a total of three years and five months after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary and one count of criminal damage. Matthew Wilson of Redhill was sentenced to 17 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to a burglary, an attempted theft of a property in Reigate and criminal damage. A third man from Crawley was handed an 18 month community order for handling stolen goods.
