Over 500 school pupils from Kent attended Gatwick Airport’s first roadshow to promote certain subjects and to inspire careers.
The new initiative takes the airport to schools across Kent, Surrey and Sussex; 15 schools from Kent attended the first roadshow at Hadlow Rural Community School near Tonbridge last week. The roadshows give exclusive insights into the aviation industry and form part of Gatwick’s local engagement programme which promotes the study of STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and maths. The roadshows link the STEM subjects with relevant job opportunities at the airport.
Easyjet, DHL and the Royal Aeronautical Society have been working on the initiative with Gatwick.
