Police across Surrey and Sussex have made 34 arrests as hundreds of Hells Angels bikers gathered to commemorate the club’s 50th anniversary in the UK. The arrests were made for possession of offensive weapons and drug offences.
Last Wednesday, Surrey and Sussex Police introduced an order under Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act of 1994, allowing stop and search within a designated area of Surrey and Sussex. The order was extended until Saturday morning.
Twelve people from six different European countries have been charged, and seven have been given suspended prison sentences. Five more were due to appear in court later. Three other people remain in custody and the others were either cautioned or released without charge.
