A man was shot in Caterham on Thursday night. 

Police were called to Coldstream Road just after 10 pm and armed response vehicles were deployed.  A 40 year old man from Caterham was identified and arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.  The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and neck which aren’t thought to be life threatening.

Police are treating the shooting as attempted murder and believe it to be an isolated incident.  There has been a heightened police presence in the area.

Surrey Police would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has any dashcam or CCTV footage.
