Increase In Demand For Surrey CC Community Helpline

Surrey’s coronavirus community helpline is now receiving 250 calls a day.

Demand for the community helpline has risen steadily since it was launched on 19th March.  Overall, it’s already dealt with more than 2,500 calls and more than 160 requests for help via the online form.

The call handlers are working remotely to ensure those struggling due to the coronavirus outbreak can get the help they need.  They are working closely with colleagues in Surrey’s district and borough councils and help vulnerable residents with food deliveries, prescriptions or dealing with isolation.

Anyone in Surrey needing support is urged to call the helpline on 0300 200 1008.  It’s open from Monday to Friday from 8 am until 6 pm, and from 10 am to 2pm at weekends.
