A 41 year old man from Bletchingley has been charged with the murder of an elderly man in Godstone. 

Darren McClean from Coneybury was charged with murder following his arrest on Thursday.  The victim was found dead at an address in Bletchingley Road last Monday morning.  He has been identified as 88 year old Dennis Kellond.  A post mortem revealed that Mr Kellond died as a result of a head injury. 

Police have stepped up patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.
