An elderly resident has been rescued from her property after her Careline alerted the fire service.
On-call firefighters from Turners Hill attended a warden assisted property on Burleigh Way in Crawley Down last Friday morning.
Upon arrival, they could hear the smoke alarm sounding from inside the property and managed to rescue the resident.
In light of this incident, West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service is urging residents to close their doors before going to bed or leaving their property, in a bid to minimise the damage a fire can cause.
