Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Redhill.

Officers were called to St John Road around 9:30 last Friday evening following reports of a man being assaulted with a scaffolding pole.

The victim is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A 30 year old man from Redhill and a 33 year old man from Reigate were arrested but have since been released under investigation.
