A woman has been hospitalised and is in a serious condition in what appears to have been a random attack.

Police were called to Warren Road in Reigate, on Sunday where a 45-year-old man been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Det Sgt Kerry Akehurst from Surrey police said: “We do not believe at this time that there is any risk to any other members of the public.”

Further enquiries are continuing.
