Residents in Merstham and Nutfield have been urged not to gather at, or swim in, Mercers Lake. 

Last weekend a dispersal order was in force at Mercers Country Park in Nutfield.  This follows recent reports of antisocial behaviour, damage and public order offences at the site. 

Tandridge District Council has reminded residents of the dangers of swimming in the lake; open water is much colder than a pool and abandoned items in the water can cause injuries. 

Parents are urged to take note if their children are leaving home with swimming costumes or towels as currently there are no swimming pools open due to Covid-19.
