A man has been charged with attempted murder of a member of staff at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

30-year-old Connolly Mellon forced the hospital into a lockdown situation for several hours on Sunday, while authorities dealt with the incident.

The victim was treated for several stab wounds and was discharged from hospital later that day.
