The future of the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey event will be decided this October.

Surrey County Council has yet to make an announcement on how the event will proceed after 2021. A decision was to be made in May but was delayed due to Coronavirus.

The council says the long-term future of the event will depend on the legacy of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Matt Furniss, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “We have an ambitious programme of active travel to support walking and cycling safely in Surrey. We were disappointed to not receive the full funding from the government, so we have matched the amount ourselves to deliver the ideas put forward by residents and partners.”
