Some Coronavirus patients in the Crawley area can recover at home thanks to technology.
Remote health monitoring means that Crawley Hospital patients who need ongoing oxygen therapy can now be cared for at home rather than in hospital. An electronic device remotely tracks their vital signs and ensures they are in touch with a clinician at all times. Hospital staff receive live information about patients’ health including oxygen levels. Those recovering from Covid-19 can return home faster and recover with their families rather than remaining in hospital.
The new approach has been piloted as part of the Hospital at Home partnership programme.
