The Mayor of Horley, and President of the Royal British Legion Horley Branch is due to complete his fundraising trek tomorrow. 

Councillor David Powell and companions from the Royal British Legion have been walking the equivalent distance from Horley to the Menin Gate in Belgium.  The 84 year old has been walking 165 miles in laps around Horley’s recreation ground over several weeks.  Councillor Powell has invited residents to come and support the end of his trek which will conclude in the Memorial Gardens at 10.45 tomorrow morning. 

The event is to raise money for the rebuilding of the Earl Haig Sports and Social Club which was destroyed by fire earlier in the summer.
