The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead is considering a merger with two other NHS Trusts to help secure its future.
It is looking at a merger with Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, and Western Sussex Hospitals. The move could see a new single hospital Trust.
The Queen Victoria is a specialist NHS hospital providing reconstructive surgery, burns care and rehabilitation centres for people who have been injured or disfigured through accidents or disease. It also runs a Sleep Disorder Centre, and is the Kent and Sussex surgical centre for head and neck cancer.
There are several reasons for the proposed merger including quicker access to a wider range of clinical services if needed. Being part of a larger organisation could also help with long term financial stability and with staffing pressures.
