Seven young people have been arrested on suspicion of an attempted murder in Oxted.
A 46 year old man was stabbed in the neck just before 6 pm on New Year’s Eve. The incident occured on Station Road West, after the victim spoke to a group of youths. The group then fled towards Morrison’s supermarket using the station underpass. The victim made his way towards the railway station where he received treatment from paramedics. He has since received surgery and has been released from hospital.
Seven youths aged between 14 and 17 were later arrested at the Esso service station on the A25, and another 17 year old was arrested on New Year’s Day.
Police have yet to locate the weapon and ask residents to check their front gardens and bins.
