A major incident was declared in Crawley yesterday after a gas leak.

Emergency services were called to a block of flats on Milton Mount Avenue in Pound Hill around 12:20am. 

Approximately 700 residents have been evacuated and placed in temporary accommodation until the scene is made safe. 

SGN said their engineers have found the source of the leak – a broken pipe – and repairs have been made.
