A fire station manager in West Sussex has turned the humble hoodie into a way of raising money for charity.
Phil Maynard had the idea of selling hoodies with UK fire services’ badges on them to fire and rescue service staff. Back in the summer, he set up Helping Hoodies with all proceeds going to the Fire Fighters Charity. The idea has taken off so well that he processed more than 1200 orders in just six months and raised more than £6000.
Phil began by testing the water with firefighters in West Sussex and has now begun making hoodies for more than 20 other fire and rescue services.
