Adverse weather causes delay to bin collections

Bin collections across the area have been delayed by the recent snow and ice.

Reigate and Banstead Borough Council said its 26 tonne bin lorries could not visit ungritted roads during the snowfall and asked residents to put out their bins and said teams would work to catch up once the weather clears.

Neighbouring Tandridge has suspended recycling, rubbish and garden waste collections saying it is unsafe for crews to operate in the snow and Crawley Borough Council announced teams were unable to visit some homes in Gossops Green and Ifield West.
